StraitsX Singapore Dollar (XSGD) is a Singapore dollar-backed stablecoin issued by StraitsX SGD Issuance Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), launched on October 5, 2020. Regulation: major payment institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (July 2024); MAS has described XSGD as substantively compliant with its planned single-currency stablecoin framework. It is not on ESMA’s list of e-money tokens authorized under MiCA.
